Students present what they have learned throughout the year at the Knowledge Fair
In November, the school community participated in the Knowledge fair, in which Campus 2 students had the opportunity to expose to parents and visitors what they have learned throughout the year. It was quite an experience!
K4 classes demonstrated how garbage and signage can impact the community, and learned that simple habits can transform the world positively.
At the fair, K5 students sold products collected by the school community in a bazaar organized by them. All proceeds will be donated to a charity chosen by the group. The initiative is part of the Unit of Inquiry: Money.
Healthy Habits is what Year 1 students proposed to visitors during the fair. As part of the Unit of Inquiry: Human Body, children asked parents and peers to participate in an interactive and sensory trail around the classroom so that they can reflect on whether they have been leading a healthy lifestyle.
In the Mastering Measurements workshop, Year 1 B students showed how to fold kusudamas (modular origami); build construction paper blocks, among other activities related to measurements.
Year 2 students showed the importance of water in our lives during the The Blue Planet workshop and invited parents to build a terrarium. At the fair, visitors also had the opportunity to embark on a Year 3 learning journey with the Embarking on Y3 Mind workshop
Another theme that was exposed during the fair was Habitats. What types of habitats can we find in different parts of the planet? Have human beings destroyed the environment or preserved the planet’s ecosystem? Can animals and plants adapt to climate change? These and other issues were explained by Year 4 students in an engaging workshop, which offered everyone the opportunity to play a game related to the subject matter.
