Teaching assistants undergo special training
In July, while students were still on vacation, RED HOUSE promoted a professional development program for Teaching Assistants (TAs) in Early Childhood Education and Elementary School. The classes and workshops took place daily at a campus in the capital of São Paulo. Besides interacting with colleagues from other units, the TAs also attended courses taught by various directors and coordinators, fostering integration among employees and facilitating a rich exchange of knowledge and experiences.
The role of the teaching assistant
At RED HOUSE, each Early Childhood Education and Elementary School class has two educators in the classroom: the Head Teacher and the Teaching Assistant (TA). The TAs play a crucial role in supporting the Head Teachers during lessons, assisting with content preparation, offering guidance during activities, and managing student behavior.
TAs actively participate in implementing the school’s didactic-pedagogical projects, adapting activities for students with special educational needs, and overseeing feeding times, among other responsibilities.
Topics covered
Among the topics addressed in the training, we highlight the process of adapting new students, learning based on research, RED HOUSE student profile, good teaching practices, classroom management, teaching guides, inclusion, RED HOUSE methodology, among others.
Investment in continued education
In addition to training provided via RED Academy, an educational platform offering online courses for continued education, RED HOUSE continues to organize face-to-face training programs for all teachers. These programs aim to promote the school’s culture, values, and curriculum structure while enhancing the pedagogical team’s skills and preparing new employees for their roles.
“The goal of this professional training program is to ensure everyone stays updated with the best educational practices, promoting high-quality continuing education, so that our team remains in constant evolution,” says Flavia Hoexter, Head of School at RED HOUSE. “Furthermore, we firmly believe that TAs are teachers in training, and as such, we invest in their development, keeping in mind their career growth within RED HOUSE,” she concludes.’
