Red House promotes a Farmer’s Market and celebrates World Food Day
Daily, the Red House team has the mission to educate students about the importance of a balanced nutrition and to work on expanding their food menu. And to celebrate World Food Day (October 16th), the school promoted some theme-based initiatives.
The main one was a Farmer’s Market promoted in Campus 2. Healthy eating and students’ self-agency were worked in this initiative by enabling them to freely shop for fruits, vegetables and organic vegetables. And, as expected, the purchases were sent home in eco-friendly bags.
The school also promoted a non-perishable food campaign in the two Campuses. For elementary students, the corresponding amount will be converted into Houses’ points, therefore. At the end of the campaign, all donations were destined to Unibes (Brazilian Israeli Social Welfare Union) which aids more than 15,000 people living in socially vulnerable situations. A entity representative also came to the Campus 2 Higienópolis to talk to students and show how campaigns like this can improve one’s life.
