Parents experience their children’s school routine on Family Day
Toddler and K3 parents had the opportunity to experience firsthand their children’s routine activities on Family Day, promoted by the school on Campus 1.
The day began with a Circle Time, an activity carried out daily by the school that enables students´ bearing in time and space. In this occasion, teachers also talked about the event, introduced friends and relatives attending the event and led a group sing-along activity.
After that, Toddler students participated in a sensory activity by creating a Calm Down Bottle. Together with parents, they used a recyclable bottle to add water and various visual elements, which brought color and movement to the object.
Meanwhile, K3 classes had an activity related to the Unit of Inquiry: Animals. Parents and children hand painted on clay animals made by the students. In a different Work Center, children chose their favorite animals to be modeled in cold porcelain with their parents.
To close the school routine day, parents and children were invited to listen to a story told by teachers, followed by a goodbye sing-along of The Bye Bye Song.
“At Red House, we value and encourage family participation. Events like this are a great opportunity for parents to experience the daily routine of their children and to further strengthen family-school bond” says Milene Motta, Red House Coordinator.
