Students participate in thematic activities on the International Day of Peace
In the week the International Day of Peace is celebrated, Early Years and Elementary School classes mobilized with various activities that aimed to make them aware of the relevance of the theme. The date is part of the Red House International School calendar and celebrates non-violence and world peace between the world.
K5 students enjoyed a Yoga class that aimed to understand the importance of inner peace. Toddler to K4 students made an artwork with watercolor and a collage. Elementary school classes, also had a reading and debate about the book “What Does Peace Feel Like?”; discussions on how we can promote peace effectively; creation of a peace symbol, of a origami peace dove, and drawings on what a world without conflicts or wars would look like, and messages to spread peace in the neighborhood. And since we are on the topic peace.
The Year 6 class launched daily challenges to invite the school community to make a difference in someone’s life and the planet: “Help a Stranger,” “Be Grateful Every Day,” “5 Environmental Actions,” “Sharing Kindness,” and “Craft Peace.”
