New Campus Villa-Lobos starts the 2022 school year
The new Red House International School unit, located in the capital of São Paulo, opens the 2022 school year receiving the early childhood education and elementary school students. The Villa-Lobos campus architecture follows the network´s design, with the infrastructure strategically planned to dialogue with the school´s pedagogical proposal, favoring learning, engagement and student protagonism.
Considered a Red House flagship school, the campus is an educational project that merges the digital and the social into one space, specially designed in 11,000 m2. There are two buildings connected by a walkway and a green clear span, which guarantees the circulation of natural light and air in the facilities. The tree lined outside has playgrounds and lounges, promoting the interaction and practice of pedagogical activities beyond the classrooms.
The new campus structure also has facilities that enable student-centric learning, with teachers as facilitators in the search for knowledge – a recording studio, laboratories, music and arts rooms, an auditorium, a library, a cafeteria and a sports complex with the capacity to hold large events and championships, with multi-sport courts, a sand court, track and field and an indoor gym.
Flexible international curriculum to meet different needs
Like the Pacaembu and Higienópolis units, the new campus aims to be accredited by the International Baccalaureate (IB), one of the most demanding and recognized international certifications in education, which opens doors for higher education in Brazil and abroad.
In addition, the school offers the National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC). RED HOUSE’s educational program integrates an exclusive bilingual international curriculum, with educators specialized in various areas of knowledge and a pedagogical methodology focused on seven pillars, based on the best educational practices in the world – modular curriculum to meet different learning needs; learning technologies, concept based learning, active methodologies, agency and actioning, development of socio-emotional skills (dispositions) and continuous and formative evaluation process, through the capture of learning evidence.
From the beginning, students are placed as agents of their own knowledge building, through research and transdisciplinary discoveries, which involve themes of local and global relevance, stimulating critical thinking and social protagonism. Throughout their learning journey, there is strong commitment on the school´s part to educate world citizens, who value their own culture and act in a positive agenda for the transformation of individual and collective evolution.
