Celebration and excitement mark the K5 and Year 5 graduation ceremonies

The end of a cycle for students is always a major event in the school community. Following all safety protocols, we held at the Higienópolis Campus the graduation ceremonies of the K5 classes – which ended their learning cycle in Early Childhood Education – and the Year 5 students now move to the Middle Years Programme in the International Baccalaureate (IB).

As happens daily in school, at graduation, students also had the role of agents of their own learning and personally took care of the ceremony. Every step and detail of the event was prepared by them and for them.

In this context, parents, educators and colleagues were amused when watching videos of K5 students performing a play based on the book ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’, a bestseller by Drew Daywalt. Classes also sang and danced to celebrate the date. The emotion took over those present with the presentation of the year review, a surprise prepared to highlight the main experiences lived by the children here.

The atmosphere of joy and celebration continued to rise with the amusing performance by Year 5 students, who got families to laugh as they impersonated the teachers, coordinators and the campus director in their school routine.

Finally, parents and siblings were thrilled to be present at the handing out of diplomas. Throughout the rite of passage of the K5 and Year 5 classes it was possible to celebrate the growth, achievements and beautiful memories experienced by students in their learning journey.
