Red House invests in innovative virtual platforms for remote education during quarantine

The world was surprised by a pandemic that has forced most people to stay at home with no socialization and away from the school environment. A lockdown deprives us of something very precious: being with others.

In this scenario, the major challenge for schools is to ensure distance education that effectively replaces face-to-face classes during the isolation period.

In order to deliver quality content and engage students with non-classroom teaching activities, Red House invested in cutting-edge technological tools. One of the online academic platforms used by the school enabled teachers to prepare interactive classes and complement the activity package sent weekly by the school, making students’ remote learning even more thorough. With the purpose of assisting parents with the distance learning period, Red House also prepared a distance learning guide.

At the same time, the faculty of Red House worked extensively to adapt quickly and efficiently to a new format pedagogical proposal to each and every grade by working on task planning, daily videoconferences, video recordings, meetings with the Coordination and on-call service to parents.

Daily virtual meetings between students and teachers help to offset the physical distance, engage the group and, of course, ease the longing for school. In order to bring students closer together during this virtual learning period, Toddler and K3 Red House teachers sent minivideos to families with some routine school activities.

Another example of activity during the quarantine took place with Year 1B class.The group joined in an active learning engagement related to the Unit of Inquiry: Materials. The students looked for different materials at home and, then, showed those objects to their colleagues.
